My Greek Tragedy
Let's not fall in love
if you can't make the heavens
chant my name
let's not fall in love
if we can't make it till that,
cause i'm no demigod
and demons are
not worshipped.
you have dreams, you polish
I know,
but I have none
I fear if the death's near
cause how come someone
be awake without a dream.
you deserve someone so right
so full of life,
so full of rights,
and perfections only a goddess can match.
Am so cracked from within
the pollutants have seeped in
and now I can't turn back
cause moving hearts;
is burdensome.
The Grim Reality:
I loved you,
loved you even when you were
stitching the pathos in me,
embellishing them with your
golden hands.
I understand your love:
it's superior
I understand your love:
it's raw
but somehow it
clawed my heart raw.
I was born in the dirt,
am soiled,
and once you come in,
there's no way out.
Thus, there will be the
mirthless classical end:
the love will have
the silent death.
cause I can't see you perish
and lose yourself in my ruins.
Epilogue:
you have lost enough
and I have felt enough.
love for us is a dammed lake
it's scandalous, offensive
poisonously deep
you might drown and die
with a vague certainty.
not knowing the cause
of your eternal damnation.
they say the monsters
are born in such murk and filth,
I say, this was the devil's refuge.
